Front Door = New Face

The white front door of the white house just had to go! When we moved in a couple of years ago, painting this door was added to “the list” of projects we wanted to put our thumbprint on. Even though other projects took precedence (more of those will be blogged about soon), I knew that taking an afternoon to paint the front door was going to be higher on my list. “Why?”, you ask. It can be a super quick investment and quickly add to a home’s curb appeal.  Plus, in secret, I’ve never painted our front door before and I wanted this baby all to myself!

While I tried to talk the hubby into a deep red (think red roses) colored paint for the front door, he wouldn't even entertain the idea. Now he has opinions, but for the most part, he’s pretty laid back with crazy ideas I find and want to do in our home. So when he stands firm on his opinion, I want to be sure and honor them.

So, Sherwin Williams to the rescue!  The team there was a lot of help in identifying the type of smaller, thinner roller to use (which I would have never done). For a dramatic effect, I choose Iron Ore (SW 7069), which gave us a huge contrast to our white siding! Unlike if we had gone with a red door, pretty much anything we hang on the door now "pops" with color! The red wreath was found at Target in the clearance section for $14.99 (I kid you not)!  As for the “hello.” decal, it was purchased off Amazon for $5-ish! I think it adds a great touch.

Let me know your thoughts!
